YOUNG mother Rebecca Blunn has been warned she faces prison if she continues to fail to keep appointments with probation officers.
Mother-of-two, Blunn, 24, was given a "last chance" by Ely Magistrates on Tuesday when she admitted not turning up for appointments on January 11 and 19.
The court heard that Blunn, of Herons Close, Ely, who was given an 80 hours' community punishment order on January 5 for assault, was due to attend the appointments for an assessment interview following her court appearance.
Probation officers only discovered the reason for her second non-attendance when she turned up at court on Tuesday to face two charges of breaching the order.
The court heard that Blunn, who has not completed any work under the order, had failed to attend because her child was in hospital.
She told the court: "On the first appointment my two children were poorly, and on the second my little boy was attending a paediatric assessment at hospital.
"I am a single parent. My mum could have the children, but she works."
Chairman of magistrates Mary Rone told her: "You haven't worked one hour. This is not a laughing matter.
"If you do not work it, you are going to go to prison, and then what will happen to your children?
"You have to keep these appointments. You are on the borderline of going to prison.
"This is your last chance. If you come back to court for a breach, the bench will have it in its powers to send you to prison, and I am sure it will do. I cannot emphasise it more clearly."
Blunn was ordered to complete an extra 10 hours' community work, making a total of 90 hours.
