YOGA was the fascinating subject of the lecture given to Stretham WI by Michael Balshaw at the WI's April meeting. Mr Balshaw gave an outline of the history of yoga, the practice of meditation and relaxation and the use of various types of posture. Did the WI have a go? You bet they did! None of them quite managed to get to their feet up behind their necks, but they did try out some of the exercises and were so interested that they hope to take the subject further.

After a short break for refreshments, the evening continued with ordinary WI business. President Joy Smith was pleased to report that the WI Easter coffee morning organised by Sylvia Human had raised £250 for Cancer Research. Thanks to all the great effort put into making the morning such a success.

Other dates for future reference are: May 8, which is the next meeting in the Parish Rooms, with speaker Carol Laidlaw on Wicken Fen; May 20 is the Stretham Feast Day when the WI will do the refreshments.
