The WI has had two festive meetings since the last report. At the December meeting in the Parish Rooms we were wonderfully entertained by the programme of humorous poetry and soliloquies performed by Hilary Sage. This was followed by carols, mulled wine and a Christmas feast, plus a raffle and gifts for everyone.

Our January meeting took place in the cosy old White Lion. It got off to a good start with mulled wine, mince pies and sausage rolls. After business, two teams took part in a 'University Challenge' quiz, with Mrs Adamson firing the questions and Mrs Few keeping score. Mrs Human's team was pipped to the post by Mrs Smith's team and all agreed it had been a fine contest, with very little cheating. A happy evening closed with coffee, a grand raffle and a punch-up (just joking!).

The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 13, in the Parish Rooms at 7.15pm, when Keith Butterworth will talk about Borneo. The meeting will be open to husbands, friends and anyone who would like an interesting and friendly evening away from the television. There will be a bring-and-buy table to boost our funds.

Stretaham WI would like to entertain ex-WI members from Wilburton and Wicken, who may be missing their friendly WI scene.
