WE had a busy and enjoyable May meeting. The main item on the agenda was a splendid bangers-and-mash supper prepared by the devoted committee. This was preceded by discussion of our annual resolution: 1 - developing sustainable energy sources; 2 - improving the take-up of healthy sports by all age groups.

Members voted 'yes' for both resolutions. We traditionally find the resolution tiresome, but we know the Government will eventually be lobbied on our decisions and no doubt will find the 'yes' votes from thousands of WI country women helpful in assessing what ordinary people want.

The supper was followed by a trip down memory lane, with members recalling their first job.

The evening ended with a bring-and-buy sale run by Ann Few and there was a grand raffle.

Next meeting is on June 6, at 7.15 in the Parish Rooms - a touchy-feely-smelly evening. Competition is a summer desert recipe.
