April Meeting: The president welcomed members. The minutes were read and approved and the business matters were dealt with.

The members enjoyed a lively talk by Clive Burrows on his life on the amateur stage. He finished the evening with the members taking part in a sing-along. There were lots of pretty fans entered into the competition, which was won by Sue Morgan.

A correction to my entry last month: Janet Handley joined the WI organisation in 1947; she joined Haddenham in 1952, making her our longest serving member.

The meeting on May 2 will commence with a discussion on the resolutions for this year, the topics are renewable energy and sport for a healthy population. The speaker will follow this: Mr Aldridge who will talk about the role of women in London over 2000 years. The competition is an article depicting an old woman.

We will be having a display of various soft and cuddly toys at blossoms and bygones in the Arkenstall Centre. Come and visit our tombola stall, there will be lots of prizes to be won.

Our meetings are at the Arkenstall Centre on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. You may contact the Secretary on 01353 740453, or alternatively, see the poster advertising our meeting on the notice board on the wall outside the One Stop shop, in the High Street.
