STRETHAM WI members had an excellent August outing to Old Hunstanton village's annual Flower Festival. The flower arrangements in the medieval church of St Mary were gorgeous. The theme was 80 Glorious Years and the mood was enhanced by a background of live music. Outside were stalls and various entertainments, plus several large marquees where hungry visitors were well fed by a posse of cheerful WI ladies. The village itself is well worth a visit. It still has a large village pond, with a fleet of ducks. Stretham WI Committee would like to wish all members happy summer holidays and they look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting, September 12, 7.15pm in the Parish Rooms. The speaker will be Mrs F Wayman on Tall Ship Sailing. Competition: Anything Nautical.
