A 21-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car in Fordham has been named.

Georgina Bailey, of Isleham Road, Fordham, was hit by a Volskwagon Scirocco at about 11.50pm on Monday.

She was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after suffering serious injuries but despite frantic efforts by paramedics and Magpas Helixmedix to save her, she died on Tuesday morning.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old from Fordham, was uninjured.

An inquest into her death was opened on Thursday by coroner for north and east Cambridgeshire William Morris.

The 21-year-old’s cause of death was listed as multiple trauma and massive blood loss.

A Facebook group in memory of the 21-year-old has been set up with dozens of people joining up to leave their condolences.
