A horse rider suffered serious injuries after falling from her horse in Little Downham.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance and East of England Ambulance Service paramedics were called to Ely Eventing Centre, in Downham Common, shortly after 10.30am on Saturday following reports that a woman in her 20s had fallen from a horse.
The woman was understood to be taking part in the Little Downham Horse Trials and suffered injuries to her abdomen and chest in the incident.
A spokesman for the air ambulance said: “Dr Gemma Mullen and critical-care paramedic Gary Steward treated the patient at the scene for abdominal injuries before they escorted her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further treatment.”
The spokesman added that the woman was in a stable condition on arrival at hospital.
