A woman in her mid-80s has died following a crash on the A47 near King's Lynn yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened at North Runcton at about 3.40pm when three vehicles, a black Mercedes E280, blue Ford Fiesta and silver Mitsubishi Shogun, were involved in a collision.
The front seat passenger of the Mercedes, a woman in her mid-80s, suffered serious injuries and was air-lifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn where she died a short time later.
Three other people were injured; the driver of the Mercedes, an 88-year-old man, suffered minor cuts and bruising while the driver of the Mitsubishi, a woman in her 50s, suffered whiplash, cuts and bruising while a passenger in the vehicle was treated for severe bruising to her arms, legs, and chest.
The road was closed while emergency service dealt with the incident and it was re-opened at 8.45pm.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information concerning the driving manner of any vehicle prior to the incident.
