A WOMAN will be punished for punching a man in the face in a supermarket.
Amy Jones, 24, of Windmill Close, Ely, pleaded guilty to assault.
She punched Kenneth Docherty in the face four or five times at Tesco in Ely, magistrates heard on Tuesday.
Mitigating Adam Haselhurst said she acted the way she did because she thought the man had assaulted her friend.
The incident took place on July 20 between 11.30pm and midnight.
The court heard that at around 12.30am that night, Ms Jones also punched a female, Jenni Harvey, in the face in Tesco, Ely. Ms Jones pleaded not guilty to this offence.
