FORTY-two-year-old Lorraine Ellis was given her third supervision order within six months this week, after being found guilty of assaulting a teenage boy in Soham, by bending his fingers.

Ely magistrates heard that the youngster suffered bruising in the incident, and were shown photographs of his injuries.

Ellis, of White Hart Lane, Soham, had denied assaulting the teenager, but was found guilty after a trial.

The court heard that 42-year-old Ellis was given a 12-month supervision order with a nine-month alcohol treatment requirement last July, after admitting using racially aggravated threatening behaviour towards a Soham shop manager, and assaulting a police officer.

Then in October, she was given a new 12-month supervision order after admitting she assaulted a man in Soham, and smashed two ornamental dogs.

This week both those sentences were revoked, and Ellis was given a new 12-month supervision order with nine months of alcohol treatment.

She was ordered to pay £50 compensation to her teenage victim and £250 costs.

Solicitor Michael Judkins said Ellis resorted to alcohol when facing problems. She had been seeing a probation officer regularly, and has made significant progress.

But, he added, Ellis had taken an overdose recently, when a relationship broke up.

"She is a lady with continuing needs," he added.
