A WOMAN had to be cut from her vehicle following a smash on the A142 in Ely on Monday.

A WOMAN had to be cut from her vehicle following a smash on the A142 in Ely on Monday.

Fire and ambulance crews were called at about 5.20pm to Station Road just outside the city following reports that two vehicles had collided.

Police stopped the traffic while other emergency crews attended the smash, causing long tailbacks during rush hour.

Crews arrived to find one women unconscious in her car and she was immediately cut free and treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

Two other passengers were also treated for minor injuries sustained in the collision and the vehicles were cleared from the road by 7pm.
