Two members of staff at Wilburton CofE Primary School have had locks of their hair chopped off in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
Pam Hudson and Becky White had their hair cut infront of all of the school children, staff and parents during a celebration assembly.
Pam and Becky’s chopped locks have been donated to the Little Princess Trust.
The charity will use the hair to make wigs, helping children and young adults who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatments.
The shearing was carried out by Jenny Bone, headteacher, and Georgina Clark, a teaching assistant who is having her own battle with breast cancer.
A spokesman for the school said: “Their hair dressing skills were sadly lacking and they should stick to their day jobs.
“The total amount raised was nearly £830.
“Well done to our cropped crusaders.”
Cancer Research UK is a cancer research and awareness charity in the United Kingdom and Isle of Man.
It was formed on February 4 2002 by the merger of The Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
