Wilburton beer festival hands out record sum to local charities and good causes

Wilburton Beer Festival Beneficiary Ceremony which took place last Thursday evening. 
A total of £7,368 was given away (a record amount in recent years) with beneficiaries including Wilburton Recreation Improvement Group, First Responders, H.E.A.R.T, local sporting clubs, local guiding groups, over 60's, Liam Fairhurst Foundation, Wilburton Theatre Group, Wilburton Primary School and Humpty's Pre-School.

It was cashing out night at the Wilburton Beer Festival Beneficiary Ceremony which took place last Thursday.

A total of £7,368 was given away (a record amount in recent years) with beneficiaries including Wilburton Recreation Improvement Group, First Responders, H.E.A.R.T, local sporting clubs, local guiding groups, over 60’s, Liam Fairhurst Foundation, Wilburton Theatre Group, Wilburton Primary School and Humpty’s Pre-School.

Charlie Gienke, 2017 festival chairman: “I am very proud to be a part of what Wilburton Beer Festival has achieved over the last 18 years, in which we have been able to donate over £60,000 to local charities and groups.

“Last year was no exception; a fabulous and incredibly successful event has meant we have been able to donate £7,368 today.”

Plans are well underway for the 19th Wilburton Beer Festival which will take place on June 17 / 18. The festival will be celebrating 50 years since “The Summer of Love” as its theme.
