Scammers saying that they are fixing potholes on behalf of the council are going around Wicken.
They claim to be from a company called A&S Contractors, Cambridgeshire County Council say.
In a post on social media this afternoon (May 11) it states: “Potential scammers are going around the village of Wicken near Ely, claiming to be from a company called A&S Contractors fixing potholes on behalf of the council.
“We don’t work with this company and it has been reported to the police and trading standards.
“If you have been approached by these people or have any doubts about someone knocking on your door asking for money, report them to Action Fraud or Citizens Advice.”
