PRESIDENT Linda Harvey welcomed everyone to the February meeting.
During the business section, members were asked their view on the new magazine WI Life; all comments were favourable. Names were taken and transport arrangements made for our forthcoming trips to Southery and Ely City WIs. Everyone enjoyed the January dinner at Timbers, Fincham.
There is a patchwork evening arranged for February 27 at 7pm at Anchor Court at a cost of £1. Instead of a speaker this month, we had a quiz, organised by Peter Allen and his wife. The winners were: Cold Mortals. The vote of thanks was given by Rosemary East. During refreshments, Phil Neal served members a piece of her diamond wedding anniversary cake.
There were 10 entries in the competition for prettiest candle.
Next month, Mrs Graves will show slides on Welney Wetlands. The competition will be a bird ornament. Visitors welcome.
