MRS D Keating welcomed members and Jerusalem was sung. Our speaker, Mr Butterworth, who has previously given us excellent slide shows, so we eagerly waited 'a glimpse of Vietnam', a recent holiday venue. We were soon transported to a land of many bicycles and crossing the roads was done with great care. If you ever visit Vietnam, their currency is the dong and 4,500 dong equals £2. The landscape was breathtaking; a visit to a silk factory delightful, and a glass of snake wine was not to be considered. Mrs Huxtable gave the vote-of-thanks, and Mr
Butterworth judged the competition for a postcard and first prize went to Mrs Lewis.
After refreshments business was conducted.
Next meeting will take place on April 12 when the speaker will be Mr Grounds on 'the life of an auctioneer'.
