MRS D Keating welcomed members and introduced Mr David Self who spoke on Behind the Scenes of a TV Quiz Show. Mr Self had set questions for Top of the Form and Sale of the Century, hosted by Nicholas Parsons. We heard a fascinating and humorous account of the history of quizzes. Then Mr Self set us a quiz. The winner would be given a gold coloured Peugeot car. The winner was Sheila Wright - who was presented with a scale model of the car. Mrs G Evans gave the vote of thanks and Mr Self judged our competition for a decorated egg; first, Mrs C Diver, second Mrs V Lewis, third Mrs F George and fourth Mrs J Townsin. After refreshments business was concluded and two minutes' silence was observed for Thelma Robinson and Mary Shackleton, who had recently died. Sutton WI did very well in the recent East of England Co-operative competition. Members won the British Sugar Trophy for overall points and shared first prize with Yaxley WIs for staging their entry. New members are always welcome. For information ring 01353 777397.
