Children and parents of Ely's Acremont House, the pre-prep of the King's School, and the nursery raised £3,500 for charity in just three hours on Saturday.

They took part in a family fund-raising event which attracted a record number of parents and friends who supported a range of sideshows and stall. There was also an auction of promises, pony rides, a bouncy castle and a barbecue.

The money raised will go to the East Anglian Children's Hospice at Milton and parents are also supporting an environmental project to redevelop the garden at Acremont House.
