THE White Horse pub in Witcham has been crowned Ely and District pub of the year 2011 by the local branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale.
After the award was presented to landlady, Tracy Robinson, judge Eric Martin said: “The specific reason we selected the White Horse as winning public house was ultimately down to the consistent high quality of the real ale served, and their support for local smaller independent brewers. The pub also offers a really warm and welcoming ambiance.
“Personally, this is just the sort of pub I would go that extra mile to visit. It goes without saying that the landlord and staff should be very proud of their achievement.”
