Two girls have been presented with prizes after winning a decorate your recycling wheelie bin competition.
The competition was held to celebrate the launch of the East Cambs District Council scheme this autumn.
The two prize winners – Courtney Cornell and Naomi Brown collected their very own decorated wheeled bin and an arm full of other prizes donated by the completion sponsors.
James Graven’s Community Liaison Manager, Caroline Bosworth, said that it was an absolute delight to run the competition with local companies and the winning entries were superb.
“Support has been tremendous throughout and we were delighted to work with ECDC, James Graven’s Budgens of Soham, C E Fuller and Co, Corkers Crisps, KNA creative and the Soham Pumpkin Fair,” said Ms Bosworth.
“We were overwhelmed with competition entries, in total receiving 132 submissions of a very high, creative standard.”
Cllr Kevin Ellis, Waste and Recycling Champion at the District Council said: “It has been great to see how well the wheelie bin roll out has gone in East Cambridgeshire and how many residents have enthusiastically taken to the new service.
“This competition is just one example of this positivity with over 100 entries that contained some fantastic designs. The winning entries really stand out and I am sure the families will be incredibly proud to put out their bins in the years to come.”
