An Ely optician has been named first in the region for its excellent customer service, improving on their second place last year.

Specsavers Opticians, at 45 High Street, beat 41 other stores after customers were interviewed by telephone at random about their in-store experience.

Store director Mark Anderson said: "Great customer service is something our store staff pride themselves in giving. The team is thrilled to have their constant hard work recognised and we will continue to improve."

Group marketing manager Tim Orton said: "Customer satisfaction is a top priority for Specsavers and for a store to be rated so highly exemplifies the staff's commitment in placing the customer at number one priority."
