Nine-year-old water sports fan Charlie Saberton embarked on his courageous fundraising mission at the Fenland Water Ski Club in King’s Lynn and completed the 10-mile challenge in an impressive time of 50 minutes.

However, Charlie’s challenge wasn’t all straightforward as his parents had to hoist him out of the water after he fell in.

His mother, Rachel said: “He was disappointed as he fell off once as the board dug into the water but I reassured him that at nine years of age I don’t think people would hold that against him!

“We are very proud of Charlie, and we’d like to say thank you to everybody who has supported him, the Fenland Water Ski club and Surf 55.”

The St Andrew’s primary school pupil was presented with a trophy for his efforts and will now donate his sum of £515 – which he raised via JustGiving - to Oxfam.
