AN environmental waste disposal company was fined £2,500 and ordered to pay £3,083 costs after it pleaded guilty to dumping sewage in Wilburton.
Anthony Roach, managing director and co-founder of London company J K Environmental and Sons, pleaded guilty on behalf of the company at Ely Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
The Environment Agency took out the prosecution after two people contacted them to say they had noticed a lorry, with the company logo on the side, dumping sewage into a watercourse, opposite Station Road, Wilburton, on November 17, 2005.
Car park closure
ELY'S Forehill short stay car park will close from Monday, May 21 until Sunday, May 27 whilst the Ely Fair is held there.
