WASTE and recycling collections in East Cambridgeshire have been suspended this morning due to adverse weather conditions.
Depending on the weather, the service should be reinstated tomorrow, with any missed collections being picked up during Friday or Saturday.
Residents are encouraged to continue to put out their waste and recycling each morning so they do not miss a collection.
Dave White, waste strategy team leader at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: "We would like to apologise for the inconvenience which the suspension of the waste and recycling service may cause our residents. The collections had managed to continue despite the wintry weather earlier in the week but this second blast of snow means it is no longer safe to continue to operate big heavy lorries on the icy roads.
"We promise to have the service up and running again as soon as possible and ask for the patience from our residents until normal collections can resume."
