Police have warned residents to be vigilant after a man purporting to be from a housing association tried to gain entry to a house.

The incident occurred on March 3 in Little Downham and saw a man purporting to be from Sanctuary Hereward try to enter a home.

PCSO Jonathan Hall said: “This male claimed to be working for Sanctuary Hereward Housing. The male was in his early sixties, English, 5ft 6” tall, grey hair, and wore glasses. The lady refused entry, and the male left.

“The lady then called Sanctuary Hereward who confirmed the male was not working for them.”

PCSO Hall advised anyone who receives a suspicious call to report the incident to Cambridgeshire police on 101.
