ELY church officials are teaming up with the Environment Agency to raise awareness of climate change in the Fens.

They want to hear from people who live or work in the area about their priorities and views on how to balance the pressures of climate change.

The Environment Agency will outline predictions of the impact of changing weather and how flooding and droughts will affect housing development, farming practices, nature conservation and leisure.

The event "Living With Climate Change in the Fens" will take place next Wednesday at The Maltings, in Ship Lane, Ely from 10am-4pm.

Those taking part will be given short presentations on the key challenges of climate change and there will be workshops to discuss what the experts have missed and an opportunity to express personal priorities.

The organisers are looking for a good mix of people in terms of age, occupation, degree of church connection, length of association with the fens.

The event is free but those taking part will be responsible for their own lunch.

INFO: Anyone interested in taking part should book with the Rev Nigel Cooper, preferably by e-mail at n.cooper@anglia.ac.uk
