WORSHIPPERS from Churches across the district gathered on Friday to take part in the traditional Silent Walk of Witness.
The walk, a silent procession of worshippers bearing a cross to commemorate the death of Jesus, started out from St Mary's Church before heading along Market Street and across to the Cathedral for a proclamation service led by the Dein, Dr Michael Chandler.
More than 100 people attended the walk, the first of a series of events going on around the district to mark the Easter weekend. Celebrations conclude at the Cathedral on Sunday with a procession to mark Jesus' resurrection at 4pm.
