THE Viva Centre in Churchgate Street, Soham held a sale of stage and fancy dress costumes at the weekend, raising more than £1,000.

The costumes had been previously used in Viva Theatre Company productions and included individual outfits and group costumes, such as those used in a chorus line. More than 200 items went on sale over the two-day sale and £1,082 was raised.

"We were really pleased with the result which was more than we had estimated", said a Viva spokesperson. The money will be ploughed back into Viva to help run arts and community projects for young people.
