THE Viva Centre in Churchgate Street, Soham held a sale of stage and fancy dress costumes at the weekend, raising more than 1,000.
The costumes had been previously used in Viva Theatre Company productions and included individual outfits and group costumes, such as those used in a chorus line. More than 200 items went on sale over the two-day sale and 1,082 was raised.
"We were really pleased with the result which was more than we had estimated", said a Viva spokesperson. The money will be ploughed back into Viva to help run arts and community projects for young people.
