Over 200 people entered through the new glass doors of Wicken Methodist Church on Saturday for an open day to show off the refurbishment.

The church has been modernised and made more accessible, providing flexible space for cafe church and retreat days in the sanctuary, as well as continuing with youth club and Sunday teas.

The work was funded largely by the Methodist Church, with support from recycling charity WREN, and the National Churches Trust amongst others.

The Rev Julian Pursehouse addressed a congregation of 130 in the celebration service.
