People flocked to Ely in their droves to enjoy the 17th Apple Festival.
A range of stalls, the popular apple peeling contest, apple tasting, cakes and drinks were among the attractions for a successful day bathed in sunshine.
Market stalls had been cancelled due to predicted high winds from Storm Brian but the day went ahead without a hitch and was a resounding success.
Tracy Harding, tourism manager for East Cambs District Council, said: “We had a fantastic day, it was absolutely brilliant, well attended and perfect weather too.
“It is a lovely community event, coach loads of people were being dropped off, it appeals to everybody.
“The longest apple peel record wasn’t broken but we had some enthusiastic entries.
“People come back year on year. It is a regular calendar events for many, that’s when you know you’ve got it right.”

National Apple Day was launched in 1990 and Ely has been joining in with the celebrations since 2000.
There is apple identification by experts East of England Apples and Orchard Project and visitors are encouraged to bring a sample of their own apples to find out exactly what kind are growing in their garden.
There was candle making demonstrations, birds of prey, storytelling and activities like apple and spoon races and apple shy.
