A small group representing Ribe RoKlub (Rowing Club) will visit Ely on the weekend of May 5 -7.

They will link up with Isle of Ely Rowing Club thanks to Ely Ribe Association.

According to the association’s chairman’s report, links have also been established between the tennis and golf club of both cities, and between Littleport Brass Band and its equivalent in Ribe.

Chairman Howard McMillan said: “The association would be delighted to hear from other groups interested in establishing links with Ribe.

“The Twinning Association is hosting a group of 20 Ribe ‘twinners’ over the weekend of Ely Cathedral Flower Festival in June.

“We are busy organising a full programme of activities for them and, as usual, our friends from Ribe will stay with association members over the weekend and new friendships will be made.

“We are all very much looking forward to this event.”
