FAIRTRADE campaigners descended n Ely n Saturday (March 1), carrying a giant banana.

The Fair Trade, Fair Debt event at Ely's cathedral centre frmed part f Fairtrade Frtnight. Refreshments, displays, activities and a children's painting cmpetitin were rganised fr the event, in assciatin with Jubilee Debt campaigners.

Pauline Jupp, ne f the Fairtrade rganisers said: "Time and again I read f hw access t the Fairtrade mark simply changes everything in lcal develping cmmunities. Fr me this is what Fairtrade and this event is all abut, encuraging us t buy Fairtrade and get directly invlved in changing lives fr the better."
