VETERANS of the 115 Squadron who were based at RAF Witchford (now Lancaster Way Business Park) during the Second World War, from 1943 to the end of hostilities, returned at the weekend for the annual reunion and dinner held at The Lamb Hotel. Although the weather was not good they visited many of their old haunts in the area (Squadron Motto 'Despite the Elements'). They also visited their museum on Lancaster Way and held a short service of remembrance on Sunday at their memorial dedicated to those who failed to return to Witchford from operations. This year an ex-WAAF who has returned to this country from South Africa attended the reunion. During the war she served as a parachute packer at Witchford.
