A VAN driver caught speeding along the A14 at 100 mph was banned from driving for 40 days by Ely magistrates.
Steven Calver, 54, of Halesworth, Suffolk, told the court: "I was just trying to get home; I had been at work all day."
He admitted breaching the 60 mph speed limit imposed on his vehicle, and was fined £230 with £35 costs and a £15 surcharge.
"This was a terrific speed on a dangerous road," said presiding magistrate Sue Griffin.
