AN American airman based at Mildenhall was killed in a six-vehicle pile-up on the A14 last Wednesday.

Stephen Walker, 23, a senior airman with the 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, died when his car was involved in a crash with five other vehicles on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 near Newmarket.

The airman was pronounced dead at the scene, but no-one else was injured.
