Two vehicles travelling in convoy were seized at the BP garage, Ely, A142 for having no insurance in the early hours of this morning.
Police said the vehicles had just been bought - but neither driver had made arrangements to sort out insurance.
Both drivers have been reported for driving whilst uninsured, and the vehicle owners must provide valid certificates if they wish to reclaim the cars.
The drivers will also have to pay for the cost of the recovery firm.
A police spokesman said: “If the owners do not claim the cars within two weeks the vehicles will be disposed of and the drivers will still face their penalties.
“Recent statistics show that uninsured drivers cost road legal drivers £33 each on their own insurance premium – a total cost of approximately £380 million per year.
“Each driver will face a fine of up to £5,000, at least six penalty points, and a possible period of disqualification from driving.”
