FIRE-FIGHTERS had to cut two people from a car after it careered into a ditch in Fordham on New Year’s Eve.
The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Station Road, with crews from Soham, Burwell and Cambridge rushed to the scene.
Three people had already climbed out of the car when crews arrived, but two people remained trapped and had to be freed using specialist cutting equipment.
Police and ambulance crews were also on scene and the road was closed while recovery took place.
The duo were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with what ambulance crews described as serious injuries.
