Littleport baton-twirler Josh Lord has been selected for the National Baton Twirling Squad and is off to camp in half-term.

Josh, 16, of Queen's Road, auditioned for the national squad over the summer and has had an anxious wait to find out if he had made the grade.

"Baton twirling is a team sport, so luckily I didn't have to audition for the nationals on my own," said Josh.

"The lady from the national squad said if we were still training with her by 2012 then we would be performing at the Olympic opening ceremony with baton twirlers from all over the world."
