Oliver Cromwell’s House in Ely has received a certificate of excellence award from travel website Trip Advisor.

Now in its fifth year, the award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is awarded to venues which earn good reviews on the TripAdvisor website.

Certificate of excellence winners include hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions located all over the world.

Richard Hobbs, chairman of the commercial services committee at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “It is no surprise to me that Oliver Cromwell House has won further recognition for what is a fantastic tourist venue. It strikes a wonderful balance between being educational, fun and ever so slightly mysterious – three ingredients to attract many a visitor.

“I would like to say a big well done to everyone who works at the House and I am sure the awards will keep on coming as will visitors in the months and years to come.”

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, Trip Advisor uses data that takes into account the quality, quantity and timing of reviews and opinions submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period.

To qualify, a business must maintain an overall Trip Advisor rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on the website for at least 12 months.
