MOTORIST Adrian Powell tried to evade police who noticed that the passenger in his Vauxhall Tigra was wanted on a warrant.
He changed his route to turn right without indicating, and when followed by a police car he did a U-turn and drove off at speed.
When he came to a halt outside a property in Wisbech Road at Littleport, Powell told officers: "He told me to keep going, but I did stop in the end." Powell, 32, of Darwins Close, Ely, had previously been convicted of careless driving, driving without insurance, and failing to produce his insurance certificate.
He was banned from driving for one year, and fined a total of £420 with £42 costs.
