YOUR Christmas tree could be put to good use by Littleport charity Branching Out.

The Grange Lane organisation is calling on people across the district to drop their Christmas tree in at their premises, where it will be shredded free of charge.

"We specialise in recycling here and we believe that nothing should be wasted," said receptionist Maureen Caddy.

"We work closely with the district council, recycling cans and even foil and our Christmas tree recycling is an extension of this."

She said the trees are reduced to wood chippings, which the charity then sells on in order to fund its work with people with learning difficulties.

The town's tree has already been recycled, and the charity hopes to recycle more.

INFO: If you wish to recycle your tree, simply drop it off at Branching Out's Grange Lane headquarters.
