A video showing a traveller jumping into a police car and speeding off, sounding the horn and doing 'donuts' in the middle of a packed Cambridgeshire field, has been watched more than 360,000 times.

The footage, which was filmed on a mobile phone, was posted onto YouTube and has clocked up 361,158 views to date. It recently resurfaced on Facebook, leading it to be shared on numerous social media pages.

The video shows a man getting into the driver’s seat while the officer has their back turned. The traveller then starts sounding the horn and doing ‘donuts’ while he is cheered on by a laughing crowd. After about a minute he stops the car and is talked to by the officer, who can be heard saying “‘there’s a line, and you’ve crossed it”.

“We can confirm this video was filmed in Cambridgeshire last summer and the officer involved is a Cambridgeshire officer,” said a police spokesman.

“Words of advice were given to the officer involved in the incident to avoid such occurrences happening again. No arrests or cautions were made.”
