The A14 westbound reopened this morning after two lorries collided, creating a large fuel spill.

The crash happened at about 2pm yesterday, July 26, at Newmarket.

According to a spokesman for Suffolk police, the road was completely blocked in the Cambridge-bound direction.

The A14 westbound near Newmarket is currently closed following a collision involving two lorries. Traffic is being diverted off the road at the Kentford exit.

Suffolk police said at 5pm the road was likely to remain closed throughout the evening.

However, according to a tweet from National Highways East, the road was reopened at about 1am.
