A CAR left the road and finished upside down in a ditch bringing traffic to a standstill in Littleport.

The accident took place on Ely Road at around 5pm on Monday with ambulance and fire crews called to help free a man from a red Peugeot 306 which had slipped off the road and ended upside down in a deep ditch.

The man suffered only minor injuries in the accident but a recovery crew had to be called to retrieve the car while the road was closed until around 6.20pm.
