AN East Cambridgeshire shopkeeper has been caught selling fireworks to a 14-year-old boy.
Undercover trading standards officers discovered the sale when they set up stings across the district to find out whether shops were prepared to sell to customers under 18.
The shop has not been named and officers, employed by Cambridgeshire County Council, are deciding whether to prosecute.
Jeremy Adams for trading standards said: "We would rather work with retailers than carry out prosecutions.
"We don't want to be killjoys but equally we don't want to see anyone killed because fireworks were sold to children.
