THE funeral of Littleport Primary School pupil Joshua Hinchliffe took place today (Thursday).
Dozens of mourners gathered at St Mary’s Church in Southery to pay their respects to the eight-year-old, who lost his three-year-battle with cancer earlier this month.
The funeral procession was followed from Joshua’s home to the small village church by a line of Landrovers and tractors, vehicles which the 8-year-old loved from watching his father Peter at work.
The grounds outside the church were awash with flowers and wreaths, many of them shaped like Joshua’s favoured Landrover.
After a service in the church, mourners gathered at nearby Southery Village Hall for a wake.
Joshua died on October 3 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Joshua’s mum Janette said he was “an amazing character whose loss would always be felt.”
