A stalwart of the Viva family received a ‘civic farewell’ earlier this month to honour her contribution to the theatre company over many years.
Leaving the Soham-based drama group for a new home in France, new and old members gathered to wish Tracey Summers luck as she moves to France.
The farewell was also attended by Mayor of Ely, Councillor Mike Rouse, who said: “Tracy goes with the warmest wishes and great affection from her friends.”
Daniel Schumann, of Viva Soham, said: “Tracey has been a big part of our Viva family for a long time.
“She has been a performer, backstage crew member and volunteer.
“She made a significant contribution to Viva and the community.
“We will miss her terribly. However we are confident that we will all stay in touch. We wish her every happiness in France.”
In July Viva Soham was awarded more than £80,000 to transform the derelict Spencer Mill into a cultural hub for the community.
Viva’s vision is to create a community theatre with a vibrant programme as well as a community space that is available for hire by the community
