EAST Cambridgeshire sector inspector Adam Gallop, pictured, is moving on to pastures new following three years leading the policing team in and around the city of Ely.

During his time at Ely he has been involved in the implementation of neighbourhood policing in the district. This has involved the integration of 18 new PCSOs into the local policing team as well as establishing the first neighbourhood panel for the district in Soham.

"I leave behind me a hard working policing team who were a pleasure to work with and I would like to thank them for their commitment over the past three years," he said.

Inspector Gallop moves to take on the role of detective inspector, based at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.

Part of this role will involve taking over as the lead on Operation Guardian, the crackdown on street crime in the city.

"I'm extremely pleased to be returning to detective work and look forward to this new challenge", said Inspector Gallop.
